Disk Quota Exceeded on /software
Disk Quota Exceeded on /software
Problem
quota exceeded error while writing to /software
Solution
Ensure that you are writing files to /software/projects/projectname/username with the correct project and user name.
/software has a project-wide quota for your project group (ie, pawseyXXXX) and not to your individual group (same as your username).
There is also a per-user quota on the number of files on /software.
For more information, and how to fix the issue, see Pawsey File Systems and their Usage.
Some file transfer programs remove and/or ignore the group sticky bit. See Transferring Files for more information.
