Problem
quota exceeded error while writing to /groupsoftware
Solution
Ensure that you are writing files to /groupsoftware/projects/myprojectprojectname/myusername username with the correct group project and user name. This will be your project id.
/group space is allocated to your project
/software has a project-wide quota for your project group (ie, pawseyXXXX) and not to your individual group (same as your username).
There is also a per-user quota on the number of files on /software.
